CARING FOR YOUR OUTDOOR FURNITURE

The pressure treated
wood that is used in manufacturing your Amish Outdoor Furniture is a
#1 quality grade ready for painting or staining. The wood is
primarily Southern Yellow Pine, kiln-dried before and after
treatment with the new, safer pressure-treated lumber treatments.
The grade, drying, and treating produce a quality lumber, not
readily available to consumers.
We highly recommend treating our products with a yearly
application of a high quality ultra-violet (UV) oil-based water seal.
The
ultra-violet rays of the sun are what is hardest on wood. There are
several brands of clear or stain oil-based water seal products
available that are designed specifically for pressure treated wood.
Choose one with the highest UV protection
you can find. A good UV protection will help protect the
wood and to prevent discoloration and cracking from the sun. This
will greatly prolong the life of your furniture as well as enhance
its appearance. Follow manufacturer's instructions for all
applications.
If so desired, pressure-treated wooden furniture may simply be
allowed to weather naturally over time.
Or, you may paint or stain it. If you choose
any of these variations, then you would not apply an oil based water
seal.
Maintenance Tips:
~ Tighten all screws, nuts, bolts, etc., periodically.
~ Faithfully applying a good quality UV water seal will greatly
prolong the life of your furniture as well as enhance its
appearance. Follow manufacturer's instructions for all applications.
